Introduction to Islam Questions

1.    Fill in the blanks:
The words Islam and Muslim both mean submission.
Muslims believe that Allah made everything.
The Muslim holy book is called the Qur’an.
A star and crescent moon is the symbol of Islam.

2.       Why should a Muslim submit to Allah?
Muslims submit to Allah because they believe Allah created everything, and that it is only right for them to submit themselves to him in return.

3.   Explain what Muslims think about Muhammad.
Muslims think Muhammad was a great prophet, but they do not believe that Muhammad is Allah, so they do not submit to him.

4.       Draw the symbol of Islam. Explain why it is used.
This symbol (the crescent star), depicting a moon and a star, represents how Muslims should live and guides them through life. This is because the very first Muslims lived in the desert, and the stars showed them where to go while the moon provided them with light to see.
 
5.       Islam began in the Middle East. Find out the names of two Muslim countries.

·         Afghanistan
